Within this fun and informative course, students will learn how to capture pop culture character portraits ranging from films to video games in the alla prima technique of oil painting. The key concepts on how to approach values, colors, edges and composition will all be covered in an easy to digest manner, with an emphasis on capturing light and glow effects within their pieces.
What You Will Learn
Creating compositions that help the subject matter sit comfortably within the piece
How to control vibrancy and chroma to create light and glow effects
A 3 step color mixing process that guarantees at least 90% accuracy
How to utilize brushstroke economy
Weekly live demonstrations with a variety of different subjects (will also take requests on
a character to paint each week)
Sharpening your drawing and value skills
One on one personalized instructions
