Downloadable 2-minute audio links (.WAV and .MP2) of daily online activities during COVID-19
KidsOutAndAbout.com is North America's online resource for families who want to know what's happening "out and about" in their local area. The site has 6 million readers per year; 85% are parents, 15% are grandparents, 82% are women. Over 225,000 readers receive KOAA's weekly email with great things to do locally. When the COVID-19 crisis hit, KOAA quickly pivoted to offering a wealth of online events, activities, and classes that kids, teens, and families can access while they're "in and about" during social distancing. Dozens of events are posted for each day: performances, science experiments, exercise classes, arts ideas, behind-the-scenes sneak peeks into experiences like zoos, farms, and museums, and lots more. You can view these all from our Master Guide of Activities for Kids & Families During the COVID-19 Crisis, which contains links to 24/7 activities, online classes, and a daily live calendar of virtual events.
KOAA's North American publisher, Debra Ross, has been the weekly guest on her hometown soft-rock station WARM 101.3 (Rochester, NY) since 2009. To help radio stations provide worthwhile, connecting content during this time of crisis, she is recording a free daily digest of LIVE events families can experience online (2-minute WAV files) that they can run on their morning broadcasts. She is also available for more in-depth Zoom / Skype / phone interviews.
You can download daily files in .MP2 format from the Public Radio Exchange (PRX), at this link. (Be sure to select your correct time zone.)
Or, for a link to access and download the short (2-minute) .WAV files recorded for each day, please send an email request with your contact and station information, plus your time zone, to deb@kidsoutandabout.com. She'll send you a link for you to access each day's .WAV file for download.
